I came across this amazing flowchart on OneFuriousLlama’s blog and then found out about this awesome website Atheistresources. Even though it’s titled “debating a christian” it’s applicable to all discussions. I never cease to be surprised at how many people don’t understand these basic rules for having a rational debate, no matter what the topic is.

I like it, but I don’t know many people who would make it past the few rounds, particularly when discussing religion.
I think this means I need to know different people.

If Christians can’t argue that they don’t “need” evidence, what have they got left!
Nothing but logical fallacies and appeals to emotion.
gee…I wonder where people get the idea that atheists are arrogent assholes…this flowchart proves it (even if it is correct)…
This would be good but only if BOTH parties agreed to it. Yes, us atheists use logic in our arguments but in a universe with no point or purpose I think being happy (even if it’s from a delusion) is more important than logic or reason.
